Juneyao Airlines and Star Alliance Seal Partnership

On May 23, Juneyao Airlines and Star Alliance held a press conference in Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Center, in which Juneyao Airlines announced to officially become the first "Star Alliance Connecting Partner".

Juneyao Airlines's Chairman Wang Junjin, President Zhao Hongliang, Vice President Yu Chengji, Vice President Xia Haibing, Service Director Zhang Wei and Star Alliance's President Jeffrey Goh, Vice President Janice Antonson, and representatives of Star Alliance member airlines attended the conference.

Wang Junjin said in his speech that Juneyao Airlines's choosing to officially join Star Alliance as a connecting partner is arguably a solid step in its implementing the "Belt and Road" initiative and participating in the construction of Shanghai into an international hub port. "Juneyao Airlines will further promote the strategic positioning of HVC (high value carrier) and strive to develop a new model for a HVC through "high quality, high efficiency and high value" to become the most favorite airline of tourists and offer all our passengers a home-like wonderful experience."

It's learned that after becoming a connecting partner, Juneyao Airlines can additionally offer 1,700 weekly flights for Star Alliance passengers to 69 destinations in 8 countries and regions. Star Alliance member airlines may explore business in Shanghai and extend business to China through Juneyao Airlines's airline network, thus gaining more passengers from Shanghai and even all across China.

Currently, Star Alliance has 28 member airlines such as Air China, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. The identity of a "Star Alliance Connecting Partner" will allow Juneyao Airlines to join Star Alliance's global airline network, improve its domestic and international combined transportation services and form a Shanghai-based international airline network covering major cities in China and Asia and connecting major international cities in North America, Europe and Australia.

Last October, Juneyao Airlines reached cooperation intent with Star Alliance. It has reached Star Alliance's standards in all aspects and established frequent flyer partnerships with formal Star Alliance members such as Air China, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, EVA Air and United Airlines. From May 23, Juneyao Airlines members who travel in a designated class in any of the above-mentioned airlines can add credits to their accounts by providing account members during booking or checking-in. In addition, all Star Alliance Gold passengers who travel in a connecting flight between Juneyao Airlines and a Star Alliance member alliance can enjoy Juneyao Airlines's high-quality services. The "Connecting Partner" program allows Juneyao Airlines to offer passengers better transfer solutions and international through check-in and baggage through check-in services, achieve flight information sharing, and build a safe, reliable and comfortable high-quality aviation service network.
