WFLMS Students Won the Linguistics Olympiad

The 6th Nationale Deutscholympiade was recently held in World Foreign Language Middle School (WFLMS) and nearly 100 students selected from nationwide PASCH schools offering German courses attended the competition. As a partner school of the PASCH program, WFLMS participated in the competition, where its students Liang Shiyu and Wang Shiyu made it to the final of Category B1 with a short play about friendship and Liang Shiyu won the second prize of Category B1.

It’s learned that the Nationale Deutscholympiade is the largest PASCH program in China. In recent years, the students have significantly improved their German through the competition and expanded the discussion topics to the new media and family conflicts, etc. This year’s competition set up three categories-A2, B1 and C1-to examine the participating students’ German listening, reading and speaking.

It’s introduced that PASCH stands for the “Schools: Partners for the Future” and aims to introduce German courses to PASCH’s partner schools, thus enabling the students to understand German cultures and have an opportunity to study in Germany.

Follow-up report The 4th National Linguistics Olympics was recently launched in Beijing, where 4 students from DP Class, Grade 1 of WFLMS taking part in the competition for the first time stood out from over 900 participants, winning the first, second and third prize respectively.
